I attended the diversity event Road to Activism: Traveling Mercies, Aldo Magazzeni. Aldo Magazzeni created a nonprofit organization; Traveling Mercies. This organization helps Afghanistan, Kenya, Haiti, and Mexico.
In Afghanistan the organization project included completing six water projects to provide safe water to thousands of people. This organization teamed up with Voice of Women Organization because of the fact that women get a lot less say then what men do. Together they support existing programs, help create a additional shelter house for women, and provid a Drug Addition Project for women. In Tepozlan, Mexico the organization is helping fund and support the daily food program and more. In Kenya the project involves 25 villages to establish community farming by installing a water well and drip irrigation system.
I have a lot of respect for this man because not very many people will be willing to even think about doing this for anyone let alone actually get up and do it.

Week of Twitter
I have had Facebook for quite some time now. I had Myspace, Xanga and any other social network you can think of. I had a Twitter at one point in time but deactivated my account because of the fact that I get so addicted to these social networks and will practically spend my whole day on them. Now having a Twitter account, where you can find me at http://twitter.com/#!/AmyMarie7, again may get my in trouble
Twitter has been a great way for me to follow some of my teachers and to also know what is going on in my hometown. It is nice to know how my brother’s football team is doing since I cannot go to every single game every Friday. Following my teachers on Twitter helps since a lot of them do not have a Facebook.
I defiantly think I will keep my Twitter account this time to keep up with the sports that my brother is involved in and to also keep up with people and businesses I am interested, even if I do spend half my day on it. It is a good way for me to get more involved in a conversation if and when I am in a interview with a certain company, and it will also put me a head of the other interviewers when I have more of an “interest” in what is exactly going on. Maybe being addicted to Twitter is not such a bad thing for people especially when you are using it in the perspective to get a head in the business world.

Being On Time
Growing up my parents always stressed to be on time. Being on time or even five/ten minutes early shows how much you actually care about something. To be honest, my parents are actually the worst people to go anywhere with. I can guarantee that every Sunday when I was with my dad we would end up being late to church. It was the most embarrassing thing ever. My church is not the biggest church so everyone knows when you're late. There has only been one time since school started that I have been late to a class, and I actually had a good reason too. I'm pretty sure I walked in maybe a minute late and i wouldn't of if I actually knew where the classroom was rather then just guessing.

Me at my best!
Show choir and choir had always been a big part of my High School career. I lived for performing. I got my first solo in seventh grade for the song "Seasons of Love" from Rent. In eight grade I was in a sextet with girls from my class and performed our song at our Sing into Summer concert were I also performed in the show choir. Up until this day i still love to sing. I had solos and duets all throughout High School. At the beginning of my senior year a really good friend had asked my to sing in her wedding. My family is a very big musical family. In three weeks I will be going back home to sing with my soon to be step-sisters for my mom's wedding.
Getting solos in High School has made me a more confident person. I know that not everyone is going to have to same tastes in things and that has made me more excepting of people. Just because one person doesn't like it doesn't mean someone else won't like it either. I have learned not to let the little things in life bother me because everything happens for a reason. No matter what anyone else thinks it's how proud my parents are of me and how i feel about everything that really matters.Being the confident person I am today makes a difference in what there is to come in my future.

Assignment Blog 1
In the Beliot College Mindset List I feel the very first statement on the list is very true. I was taught how to write in cursive in third or fourth grade but don't exactly remember every single letter. We were never required to write in cursive on an everyday basis. Personally I dislike writing in cursive. Signing my name for my drivers license was the worst. I am pretty sure it took me about four or five times.
I also believe that the seventh one on the list is very true too. I am personally a Starbucks coffee kind of girl. I am not the type to drink straight black coffee,I like my frappucino's and cappuccino's, but I am not one who has to have coffee or caffeine to wake me up or keep me awake. I do think that our generation is one who is more likely to have a variety of coffee's, then say like my dad's who drinks the straight black coffee.
I don't necessarily think that number thirty-four is true. For my job back home I delivered medication to residents who were unable to get out of their house and the nursing homes. In Benton County Nursing Homes and Assisted Living were pretty much the same thing. Our Nursing Home and Assisted Living homes were in the same building. The only difference was that in the Assisted Living homes some residents were still able to take care of themselves but under a nurses watch.
